Parent Company IDN Halal X UNIPEQ: Ready to Collaborate to Strengthen the Halal Ecosystem

The official partner of Halal Sharia Integrasi (HSI) in Malaysia, PLT Management Services Al Hamra (Al Hamra) has just carried out a collaborative visit with UNIPEQ, a subsidiary of Universitas Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in September 2023. Through this meeting, many potential collaborations emerged, especially in the field of training which aims to build a halal laboratory in the HSI ecosystem.

UNIPEQ itself operates in the field of halal training and laboratories so of course this collaboration is directly related to all the services available at HSI. In the future, through the services provided, it is hoped that the development of local food companies and government institutions will be successful in bringing us to the international stage.

Collaboration Potential

HSI and UNIPEQ will synergize and collaborate through potential cooperation as follows:

1. Halal Laboratory Services

To develop halal products, the role of this laboratory is suitable for the Indonesian and Malaysian markets to avoid contamination with haram materials. Services that can be developed range from Analytical Lab Testing (Chemical Tests, Microbiology Testing, Water Testing, DNA Testing) and glycemic Index Testing, to other tests.

2. Training Academy

Collaboration is also needed because through this training all participants can maintain and improve their professionalism in their respective industries, starting from the Professional Short Course, and Certification Program, to International Programs.

3. Consultation

This service focuses on supporting guidelines aimed at improving the food safety of halal products to meet recognized food scheme compliance.

Because of this potential, we are ready to play an active role in providing quality services for food industry business players according to halal principles through the latest technological developments whose research can be achieved from the process of experimentation, measurement, and research.

Future Collaboration Plans

To continue the results of the collaboration meeting, UNIPEQ will also hold a visit and follow-up meeting with HSI in October 2023 for the signing of the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) & MoU on cooperation.
